As part of our initiative for 2010, we're calling out to all old members and players who have participated in either an Amazon social tennis or competition event. Don't be shy now. We know you're keen to get playing again.
A number of past players may have moved on to compete in other tennis competitions, but we're giving you the opportunity to play with us again. We're looking to expand the competition with another division and would love you join.
Coming up...Feel free share any ideas or thoughts you have in mind that would see the club become more prominent amongst the Gay and Lesbian community.
If you are interested in being part of our social events, please contact Amazon Tennis at info@amazontennis.org
Welcome to the Amazon Tennis website. Here you'll find information about Sydney's first lesbian tennis club and the competitive and social activities it runs.
The Amazon Tennis Club was first established in 1995 as Sydney's first ever lesbian tennis club. This definitely makes us the longest running one too. Catering to players of all ages and levels, Amazon Tennis is ideal for women wanting to get back into tennis or starting up.
"Play competitively or socially, meet new people, have fun and make new friends"
Social tennis is held every week alternating between Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. There's a mixture of beginners to the more experienced players. Simply rock up, bring your tennis racquet and play. We also have a monthly Saturday afternoon social which is normally followed by dinner and drinks. Our weekly competition is held every Monday at Cintra Park Tennis Centre in Concord. We currently have two divisions you can choose to play in.
If you're interested in joining social or competitive tennis then we'd love to see you on the courts. There's no better time to get active and stay fit, by playing the world's most loved game.
If you're interested in joining Amazon Tennis why not join our membership program for an annual fee of $20, OR join our mailing list to get the latest updates.
