Registration for Next Season Now Open

The next Spring/Summer 2010-11 tennis season is now under way and registration for becoming a competition player or reserves is currently open until Friday 17th September. If you are interested in playing the next Summer/Spring 2010-2011 comp, please register your interest in our online form. New season commences Monday 18th October.

Competition Tennis Information

Welcome to Sydney's lesbian tennis competition. This is a graded competition held on a weekly basis with a view to providing a challenging and fun sporting environment for lesbian tennis players of all levels.

The Amazon Tennis competition events caters for players of all levels. You can be a novice player who enjoys the social aspects of the competitive game, or you can be an experienced player wanting to play women of similar levels.

 
TEAMS

Each team will consist of two (2) players of equal or similar standard.

PLAYING FORMAT
3 standard sets of doubles with short deuce and tie break at 6 all.

CURRENT GRADES
Division 1:     A & B Grade
Division 2:     B Grade
Division 3:     C Grade
Note: there may only be 1 grade depending on numbers and divisions can also be expanded to three (3) divisions depending on each season's competition

TIME AND VENUE
Mondays 7:15pm. Play must start at 7:30pm SHARP till 9:30pm (or when finished)

COMPETITION FEES
This is determined once the final number of teams interested in playing each season's comp. Fees need to be upfront for the season and can range from $140 - $160 per person for the season.

COMPETITION FORMAT
Doubles only. Three (3) standard sets of doubles with short deuce

POINT ALLOTMENT
1 point awarded for each set you win against your opponent. For example if you win 2 sets to 1, then the winning team will be awarded 2 points, and the other 1 point. Zero (0) points are awarded to matches that can not have their rained out games be played in the extended weeks of the competition season. An additional 2 weeks is always counted for at the end of the tennis season in case of rain.
